Anaesthetic CT1 Novices

 

What is it?   

The BASICS IAC assesses CT1 anaesthetic novices in their basic understanding of anaesthetics and ability to deliver anaesthetics with a level of supervision appropriate for level of training. This is achieved through the use of high fidelity realtime simulations of anaesthetic emergencies that the trainee should be able to provide initial management steps to ensure patient safety. It is undertaken towards the end of the trainee’s initial 3 months of anaesthetic training just prior to undertaking on call duties.
